چکیده

Background: The aim was to determine whether oral route of maternal hydration advantageous over intravenous in terms increasing AFI and improving perinatal outcome women having borderline oligohydramnios. Methods: At Aarogya hospital, 150 third trimester with oligohydramnios (BO) 5.1-8 cm, were divided randomly into two groups, group (OG) (IVG). Each case studied on OPD basis. After 2 hours, 48 hours 1 week or IV hydration. reassessed by same sonographer. Pre-delivery various measures recorded for both groups. Results: There an increase 44.5% OG from 0 hour till delivery as compared 30.7% IVG. MSL occurred 8 (10.7%) 17 (22.6%) FD found 4 (5.3%) requiring LSCS 16 (21.3%) Total 59 (78.7%) patients has spontaneous vaginal 42 (56%) Perinatal better than IVG 67 (89%) had Apgar at min >8 58 (77%) score <8 seen while (22.7 %) Overall, 7 (9.3%) required NICU admission 12 (16%) IVG.Conclusions: increment persisted longer Maternal therapy

Maternal hydration for increasing amniotic fluid volume in oligohydramnios and normal amniotic fluid volume.

BACKGROUND Oligohydramnios (reduced amniotic fluid) may be responsible for malpresentation problems, umbilical cord compression, concentration of meconium in the liquor, and difficult or failed external cephalic version. Simple maternal hydration has been suggested as a way of increasing amniotic fluid volume in order to reduce some of these problems. OBJECTIVES The objective of this review w...

Adverse perinatal outcomes in borderline amniotic fluid index

BACKGROUND Normal amniotic fluid predicts normal placental function, fetal growth and fetal well-being. OBJECTIVE To determine adverse pregnancy outcomes in borderline amniotic fluid index (AFI). MATERIALS AND METHODS Pregnant women (37-40 wks) with diagnosis of borderline AFI between December 2012 and August 2014 were identified. Antepartum, intrapartum and neonatal data were collected and...

Effect of maternal hydration on the increase of amniotic fluid index.

The objective of this study was to determine the effect of maternal hydration with oral isotonic solution and water on the amniotic fluid (AF) index of women with normohydramnios. Women with a normal AF index and gestational age between 33 and 36 weeks without maternal complications were randomized into three groups [isotonic solution (Gatorade(®)), water, control]. The isotonic solution and wa...

Correlation of amniotic fluid index with perinatal outcome.

OBJECTIVES We aimed to evaluate the predictive value of amniotic fluid index (AFI) (<5) for adverse perinatal outcome in terms of cesarean section for fetal distress, birth weight, meconium staining, Apgar scores, and cord pH at birth. METHODS This was a prospective study of 200 antenatal women booked at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital during the years 2009-2011 with gestational age between ...
